BEING THE WITNESS

Now that we have covered all the lunar phases in prior blog posts, I will now move on to other facets that will help you understand the lunar, planetary and solar influences of your dreams. All prototypal lunar initiations relate to the “me” of the self. The twelve lunar phases represent cycles of initiation and relate to the emotional occurrences of present life karma. Karma is the law of cause and effect. In other words, what you sow you shall reap.

Karma is always connected to the actions of an out-of-balance ego. The ego is a vessel for the outer expression of undeveloped soul-powers which are built through the senses and the intellect. The ego is also the consolidating aspect of individuality. The personality influences are weakened as the moon rises at dusk and one’s individuality is dominated by the mentality within the soul.

In essence, through the mental action of the night we are able to discern our emotional experiences from the perspective of a “witness.” By looking at ourselves in movie-like scenarios we discover our true feelings with penetrating awareness, discerning the underlying influences of the ego in its outer expression.
